Hello and welcome to Therapy Austin! I am so glad you are deciding to reach out. Life is complicated and we are not meant to walk alone. So, thank you for the honor of allowing me to walk this part of your life journey with you. I believe that you are capable of finding solutions to each problem you encounter, and direct your life in a way that is authentic and true to you. But sometimes it is difficult to know how to do that exactly. In therapy we work to discover the answers that already exist in you, as well as find solutions that you may not have been aware of.
I work with people experiencing general life issues, as well as those experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, or suicidality. I also work with couples dealing with relationship issues and infidelity. If you are experiencing relationship difficulties, infidelity, depression or anxiety, grief, crisis or suicidality, or life transitions with school, career or family, you are in the right place.
I use a client-centered approach, providing a safe place for people to explore their core person, and their relationships. I am present to listen to clients life stories and understand their emotions. I work with clients to determine what changes they want in their lives and work toward those goals. I implement DBT (emotional regulation and coping skills), CBT, and mindfulness. I welcome people of all religious and cultural backgrounds, and encourage you to bring those aspects of yourself to therapy sessions.
Getting to know your therapist: I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern. I graduated with an M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University, focusing on gender and family systems. My experience includes work with LGBTQ+ persons, non-traditional, open, and traditional couple and family dynamics, and culture dynamics. I received a bachelor's degree from Montana State University in psychology, research and applied behavior analysis, and received a minor in history of religion.
In my free time, I enjoy horseback riding, ice skating, hiking, and rock climbing. Outside the office, I spend a great deal of time with my family and our dog. I love being in Austin because of the beautiful outdoors, and I am so lucky to be able to work with the wonderful people here.
If you’d like to schedule an appointment with me, please call me at 512/201-4501, ext. 236. I would love to speak with you and will get back to you within 24 hours.
