“There are no wrong turnings. Only paths we had not known we were meant to walk.” Guy Gavriel Kay
Contemplating any change can be daunting, but here you are, reaching out, exploring. Change takes time, and seeing a therapist can be the first step along a new path. We can go at your pace, walking together on a path you determine. Whether you are looking at a life transition, grieving a loss, or dealing with a chronic illness, together we will begin the process of examining where you are, working together to shift to a place that brings you fulfillment and to help you reach your goals.
I work from a client-centered approach, understanding that we each come with our own strengths and challenges. I offer a collaborative and encouraging space utilizing techniques from a variety of theoretical frameworks including a narrative approach, motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience in the fields of mental health, grief and loss, substance abuse, chronic illness, hospice, and HIV/AIDS. I am experienced working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds and am an LGBTQ ally.
A little about me: I really encourage laughter with clients and in my own life journey. I share a house with 3 boys (one is middle-aged) and a very large fluffy dog. I have a wild garden full of local volunteer plants. I have a passion for all things creative and get way more excited about my kids’ science fair projects than they do.
I want to hear your story. If you are interested in working together, please reach out to me at 512/201-4501, ext. 212.
