Hey there! Welcome. Initially, the idea of therapy can feel overwhelming, intimidating, non-accessible, difficult, and so much more. If you’ve found this page, you’ve already made the first step of overcoming those fears & barriers in order to seek healing and support! You inherently deserve to feel heard, seen and cared for. As a therapist, I hope to offer you that and more in a collaborative, nonjudgemental, and affirming environment.
My approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and holistic. I believe that wellness incorporates not just your mind, but your body, and spirit. Healing in one area begets healing in another, and a therapist can assist you in flourishing with all facets of your well-being! We will work together within sessions to address your presenting concerns, seek to understand the root emotional causes and formulate solutions to help you move forward. Areas that I particularly enjoy working with are relationship concerns, betrayal trauma, boundary setting, navigating attachment styles, and stepping into your most empowered and secure self.
With a Bachelor’s in Neuroscience, my clinical understanding of healing is also rooted in cognitive restructuring or CBT. After a traumatic incident, our patterns of cognition, or thoughts, are rewired to sense danger and provide us with protection; Our bodies physically hold this trauma as well. I can guide you in reframing destructive thoughts, releasing stored physical trauma, addressing feelings of worthlessness, shame, and guilt, and calming a heightened nervous system via grounding & mindfulness principles.
I completed my Master’s in Social Work from Texas State University and have worked in a variety of settings from acute psychiatric care, and emergency medicine, to equine-assisted therapy. My diverse professional background has allowed me to hone my skills in emotional regulation, empathetically connecting with clients, and providing culturally competent care. In my free time, you can find me weight lifting, traveling, going to yoga, or horseback riding. I love movement almost as much as I love spending time snuggling with my two rescue pitties!
If any of the above resonated with you and you are interested in collaborating together on your healing journey please contact me via phone or email! I look forward to potentially being your cheerleader, support system, and listening ear.
