“If you’re always trying to be normal you will never know how amazing you can be.” – Maya Angelou

Hello! Welcome to Therapy Austin.  I’m glad you’re here. Picture our therapy space as a sanctuary—a place where you're met with warmth, empathy, and a good dash of humor when needed. I'm an active listener who's genuinely interested in your story. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can be your authentic self so we can collaborate to create opportunities for growth and acceptance. Whether you are maneuvering around depression, anxiety, life transitions, or relationship issues (to name a few) we can work together to unravel that experience to assist in making decisions from a place of clarity and compassion. You will always be the most important person in the room, and I will be your advocate.

I work from a space of Family Systems Theories. This is the idea that we are a part of many systems around us that have influenced us on how to react to situations, what to expect in relationships and sometimes how we view ourselves. We are greater than the sum of our parts and our parts are important. These concepts can be used in individual work and work with couples. We will work together to explore your history, decide what fits and what doesn’t so you can choose what you want to keep. Yep, it is sort of like cleaning out your closet. We will move at your pace so as to maintain a safe and collaborative experience.

A little about me…. I am a born and bred Texan and have called Austin home for 23 years. I earned both my undergraduate degree in psychology and Master of Arts in counseling at St. Edward’s University. Through my evolution there have been versions of me as a fine art photographer, yoga instructor, and business owner. I am an emotional human, a friend, daughter, a sister, a partner and a mother. I am also a servant of the two cats that reside with us. I love all things spooky, traveling, live music, dancing and being with my most cherished people. A bucket list goal is to stay in a glass cabin to watch the Aurora Borealis. If you have made it this far and are interested in scheduling or have any questions to see if we are a fit, please feel free to reach out to Stacie.Brooks@TherapyAustin.com or call 512-201-4501 Ext 328.
