“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.” -Viktor E. Frankl

Hello and welcome to Therapy Austin!

I just want to start by letting you know, I am proud of you. The world is a crazy place, it moves fast, it is unpredictable, and just when you think you have it all figured out, the world says “Not so fast.” Despite that, you are here seeking help. For that I am proud. It takes strength and courage to choose to ask for help regardless of if this is your first time seeking therapy or the 100th. I believe that we can use that strength and courage to build a healthier and happier you.

Now if this is your first rodeo, then you might be wondering what therapy is actually all about. I'll let you in on the secret, it's about you! Maybe you are struggling with anxiety or depression. You could have past traumas that are making it difficult to heal and grow. Perhaps you are neurodivergent and are struggling with a world that just doesn't quite understand. No matter what brings you to therapy, I believe that you have the power to enact positive change in your life. The tricky question is how? It starts simple, with you and I collaborating to build a space where you feel heard, where you feel safe, and where you feel valued. The best way to do that is to have open and honest communication on both sides. Through this communication, you and I will take a look at what is happening now and explore how that is affected by the world around us, and your past experiences. By striving to understand how those are all connected we can find ways to make positive change.

If you are anything like me, the thought of telling a stranger all of your most intimate thoughts might be a tad off-putting. So let's fix that. I earned my undergrad degree at Texas Tech in Psychology and History. I earned my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The University of New Orleans. I formerly worked at a community mental health clinic in Louisiana and saw a wide array of diagnoses. That clinical work helped me develop an eclectic set of skills that I use to help my clients thrive. On a more personal note, I am a dog dad to two wonderful pups who love all of Austin's dog-friendly hiking trails. The remainder of my spare time is spent in various nerdy pursuits.

Thank you for stopping by my page! If you would like to work collaboratively with me to build a happier and healthier you then please call me at 512-201-4501 x 356. I look forward to working together!
