Howdy! Taking the first step to reach out and seek help takes guts, and it’s a great step forward. There are many challenges life throws at us. Not having the support we need to overcome those challenges can leave us feeling lost, depressed, anxious, angry, disconnected, and stuck. It’s important for you to know that you are worthy of happiness and deserve to feel fulfilled in your relationships.
The journey of healing and progress can begin with therapy. Perhaps you have new challenges and life decisions that have impacted you. Or maybe you have pain from experiences in your past that have not been forgotten. Our sessions will be a safe space where you can feel comfortable to bring your thoughts and receive support in a non-judgmental way. At times, simply having someone there to listen to your experience can offer hope.
I work with a person-centered approach as I believe you are the best expert of your own story. I also enjoy using humor when it’s appropriate, as I feel it makes the session seem more like a conversation. My hope is to make you feel as though you are in the driver’s seat and I can be the passenger helping you navigate. It’s important to utilize and build upon the strengths that you already have while still learning new ways to cope and bring attention to yourself through mindfulness. With our busy schedules, we often forget to practice self-care and listen to our bodies. Every person is different, and therapy looks different for every person. Therefore, in my sessions I tailor my approach to your individual needs.
Some info about me: I am originally from San Antonio, Texas, and I am happy to now call Austin my home. I received both my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Outside of therapy I truly enjoy playing video games, watching Netflix, cooking, and eating. I appreciate you taking the time to check out my page.
