Seeking help and support can be one of the most difficult things we do. No matter what journey you’re on, I’m glad you’ve taken the steps to find me. Many times, we feel unheard or lost in our experiences, and part of my therapy style is to create a space where you feel heard, safe, and comfortable as you dive into vulnerability.
Maybe you’re a couple needing support through pregnancy or the transition into parenthood. Or you’re a couple who is having a hard time connecting and communicating. Maybe you struggle with past trauma and need a safe space to process, or you’re in need of tools to manage anxiety, depression, life transitions, or family stress. Even if these sentences don’t include you, that’s okay! Therapy is a place for support no matter what you’re going through.
I find that our past history (family experiences, trauma, attachment) can impact how we view our world and relationships as adults. A lot of my work resonates in Gottman techniques, attachment theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Part of my training involves me viewing clients through a systems perspective – meaning I consider not just the person or couple sitting in front of me, but all the other systems and areas of life that might impact you.
To tell you a bit about myself: Although I hail from the east coast, I’ve made Austin my home over the past few years as I completed my Masters in Professional Counseling from Texas State University. I’m licensed by the state of Texas as both an LMFT-Associate and an LPC-Associate, and am supervised by Susan Gonzales, LPC-S, LMFT-S. You’ll find that I bring my authentic self into our sessions together, and I encourage you to do the same! Outside of work, I’m constantly gushing at my cat, playing Sims or Animal Crossing, working on a new craft project, or playing D&D.
