Hi there!
Welcome to my page. I’m so glad that you are exploring options for therapy. Whether this is your first time seeking therapy or this is something you have done before, this is a space for you to grow, heal, and explore without judgment. We will establish trust and honest communication in the therapeutic process, and have fun along the way. The most important thing to remember is that you already have the answers and you are the expert in your life. I’m just here to help guide you along the way with curiosity, encouragement, and empathy.
I use an anti-oppressive, anti-racist lens in my practice. I work with both individuals and couples who are experiencing trauma and difficulties in relationships. When working with individuals I enjoy attachment work, identity, and cultural exploration, and discussing things that clients haven’t had the space to explore before. I’ve guided couples in premarital counseling, family planning, identifying communication strategies, exploring identity and culture, processing mental health diagnoses and challenges, and working through addiction while helping deepen their relationship. I am trained in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I also like to incorporate mindfulness practices and tools from the Gottman Method in my sessions.
My therapeutic approach is person-centered, conversational, and trauma-informed. Therapy has been an affirming and wonderful place to grow and heal for me personally, and I know that it will be for you, too.
I earned my Master in Social Work and Master in Legal Studies from The University of Denver, but I was born in Austin and it has always been my hometown. In my free time I enjoy reading, movies, birding, foraging, traveling, and eating yummy vegan food.
If you are interested in learning more about therapy and working with me, please reach out to me at 512/201-4501, ext. 278. I look forward to going on this journey with you.
