Hi!
Welcome to your first step in your healing process. I know this journey is often tough, and it can feel really scary to begin! I admire you in taking that step. Life can have some challenging and experiences, and it’s okay to seek help when you are having a hard time. As Brené Brown would say, ““Sometimes the bravest and most important thing you can do is just show up.”
My approach to therapy is highly collaborative and strength based. You are the expert of your experiences, and together we can work through those more challenging periods in life. Together we can create a safe environment where you will be heard, seen, and supported in your goals. Your goals are what will drive our sessions and will always be at the heart of our work.
I am passionate about creating diverse spaces and engaging with all identities. I am an avid LGBTQIA+ ally. I am always open and curious to learning about the identities that are center to you.
I most often collaborate with clients in approaches that harness their strengths and challenge their negative beliefs of themselves. I also greatly enjoy utilizing mindfulness as an approach.
I am originally from Northern Virginia and grew up outside the nation’s capital. I obtained my Bachelor of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University, where I worked with veterans and in guardianship. I then moved to Austin, TX to pursue my Master of Science in Social Work. I have worked with diverse individuals both internationally and domestically. I am curious to know about other’s experiences and I am passionate about assisting you in reaching your goals. I have worked with individuals and families experiencing grief and loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, changes in identity, and chronic medical diagnoses. My hope is that together we can explore the challenges of life and create an environment of growth.
Outside of therapy you can find me likely by a body of water, tending to my plants, or spending time with my beloved cat.
Please reach out if you think we could be a good therapeutic match, or should you have any questions!
