I am so excited to start this journey with you. I know first hand how difficult it can be to take those first steps towards self exploration. But you made it, you are here—welcome! Whether you have prior experience with therapy or you are coming to therapy for the very first time, we will tackle your expectations together. As a therapist, I practice a person-centered approach, meaning you are the expert on your own life. But sometimes, an outside perspective can be helpful, providing valuable feedback about our patterns and behaviors. This is especially important for growth and change to occur. Our time together will be more like a conversation, as I view our therapeutic relationship as a collaboration. With so many demands in our lives these days, I want our shared space to feel comfortable and relaxed. I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere where you can share your authentic, vulnerable self with ease. I hope you will feel validated and supported. Your story, experiences, and perspective are powerful and I am honored to listen.
We will navigate this path together and with my guidance and support, you will be able to let go of unhelpful behavior patterns, uncover unhealthy coping mechanisms, and build strong skills to help you move forward toward your goals and reclaim your joy. We will assess your individual needs to create a therapeutic plan that is unique to you. I will draw from various treatment models, incorporating techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness that will help you manage stress, improve resilience, and gain control in the areas of your life that feel overwhelming. Together, we will use thought work to help you gain a deeper understanding of your inner narrative and explore ways you can exercise self-compassion.
I received my Master’s degree in Social Work from New York University. I have extensive experience supporting individuals living with mental health diagnoses, substance use issues, trauma, challenges with life transitions, and those who feel stuck and have difficulty moving their lives forward. I am passionate about providing a safe space free of judgment for you to heal, learn and implement new skills, and empower you to achieve your goals.
Beyond therapy, I enjoy spending time outdoors—hiking with my dogs, exploring new trails, or relaxing on the rivers or lakes around town. I believe we share a deep connection with nature and I try to tune in and foster that relationship as much as possible. I also love to cook, read, and travel, taking in new sights and experiences.
