Hello and welcome! I want to recognize how amazing it is that you are here in this phase of your journey. It is not easy asking for help, and I want to commend you for doing so! Life is full of challenges. Many of which bring about uncomfortable feelings. Not having support can make it hard to work through these uncomfortable feelings that arise, and I am here to help!
I believe that we are our own expert in this journey of growth and change. We know ourselves better than anyone else, and a lot of times we know exactly what we need. It is my hope that we can create a space that is genuine and safe for you to express yourself as you truly are. Within this space, we can follow the path and find the answers you need. The relationship we create is one of the most important parts of the therapeutic journey we will embark on together. A relationship that fosters genuineness, honesty, empathy, and warmth will aid in the development of trust between us. This is also a relationship that differs from others within your life because it acts off of unconditional positive regard, meaning that I accept and support you regardless of what you say or do.
My approach to therapy operates from a humanistic perspective that focuses on the person-centered approach, while implementing cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, psychodynamic, reality, and solution-focused theories. I take an eclectic approach and strive to continue to learn an abundance of modalities as I grow as an intern.
I am originally from Illinois, but found my home in Austin! I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a Masters of Science of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Northern Illinois University. Outside of therapy you can find me enjoying the sunshine, walking my two dogs (Tyson and Lyla), or looking for a hidden gem coffee shop around town.
I believe that with the right therapist can come immense growth and change. If you feel that we are a good fit or if you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call at (512) 201-4501 x293. Looking forward to getting to know you!
