Hello, fellow life traveler, and welcome! I commend you for taking a step forward in discovering your joy, your resilience, and how certain challenging events are impacting your innate value. Are you at a crossroads or have you experienced a life event that may affect being able to show up and be present with yourself and with your important relationships?
I am trained as an art therapist and invite you into a space where together we can foster safety, leverage your strengths, and allow me to bear witness to your struggles. You are naturally creative and bring your own unique expressiveness. Sometimes words aren’t enough and your story is a sum of different parts. Do you like to doodle, draw or paint, write poetry or music, dance, dabble in spoken word? Or perhaps you enjoy other sensory contact such as sifting through sand, popping bubble wrap, crocheting, sewing, or the smell of a good book as you flip through pages? Whatever that looks like, I encourage you to embrace what feels right for you in the moment.
Some of life’s memorable moments can have lasting effects on our well-being and influence our day to day. We are living in a unique time during the pandemic and we all have experienced collective feelings of grief. Whether it’s due to a job loss, close friend or family member who passed away or was hospitalized, isolation from your support, adapting to work-from-home life, just being able to survive due to economic hardships, or social justice issues, how and when you honor your feelings along this uncertain terrain is an ambiguous path we can navigate together. If you’re seeking a BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color) and culturally sensitive companion to join you as we hold a space and dialogue for racial, cultural, and generational traumas, or an LGBTQIA+ affirming presence, I welcome the opportunity to see if we’re a good fit.
I enjoy travelling, discovering new restaurants, and dabbling in some home remodelling with my partner. Bird feeding and bird watching has become a wonderful refuge in the past year too! I enjoy the creative process and have a background in painting and drawing. More recently, I’ve experimented with performance art mixed with music and movement as well as spoken word.
