“Venture outside your comfort zone. The rewards are worth it.” Rapunzel in Tangled
As a counselor, my motto is learning how to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. I want to help my client become more empowered, self-aware, and confident with lifes’ curveballs. I create a warm, down-to-earth, and fun therapeutic style that caters to my clients.
My goal is to fashion each session geared toward the uniqueness of all my clients. I like to learn about you and what you love. The best way to facilitate change is incorporating who you are into each session. I want to know what books you read, tv shows you watch, music you listen to, even your favorite movie. I believe you can learn so much about a person by their interests. I encourage individuals to build a better self-image, express their emotions constructively, and build healthy relationships with others. I also believe in our passion we find our strengths, our voice, and our ability to heal. We can cope with engaging in our interests and heal from trauma by finding our passion. When I get the opportunity to include my client’s passion into therapy it creates a learning opportunity for both parties.
As a nerd in this world, I tend to use a lot of pop culture references for understanding and to make our time together pleasurable. My interests include books, anime, Marvel movies, fantasy movies, and crossword puzzles.
My specialty includes working with individuals with disabilities, mood disorders, multicultural/diverse individuals, and trauma. Experienced in working with anxiety, depression, LGBTIA+, relationships, and family relationships.
If you think we would work well together, please contact me at 512/201-4501, ext. 155.
