Christina Busch, LCSW
My name is Christina, and I’m so glad that you are here. Finding a therapist is the first, often hard step towards seeking help. This might be the first page that you stumbled on, or perhaps you have been looking at many. My hope is that you find someone who helps you feel safe even in the midst of the uncomfortable.
It would be an honor to get to hold your story and a privilege to get to walk alongside you for some of this journey. I often weave cognitive behavioral therapy throughout my work, as well as some other modalities of therapy. If you are looking to process trauma, I am EMDR trained and passionate about the ways that it can provide healing. Some additional areas that I have experience in are grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, and cancer diagnoses. I have worked in both community mental health and in a medical setting. Most recently, I worked with families whose children received a diagnosis of cancer and understand the difficulties, the trauma, and yet the unimagined resiliency that this diagnosis can often bring.
While I will help guide our work together, you get to decide what you would like to focus on and where you would like our sessions to go. In a therapy session with me, you will find that I am validating, warm, and empathetic. I let my sense of humor come through at times, but I am also not afraid to push you to continue to grow and evolve.
I grew up in Northern California (yes, I’m another Californian in Texas), but I have also lived in many other places. I received my Master’s in Social Worker from Baylor University and moved to Austin shortly after. When I’m not working, I can be found outside running, hiking, spending time with my husband, and walking my pup. Coffee, chocolate, and sunshine are some of my favorite things.
If you are interested in scheduling an appointment with me, please reach out to me at (512)201-4501 x 357. I look forward to getting to know you and walking alongside you.
