“Life is like walking, you take one step at a time.” -Taylor Swift
Hello and welcome to a new chapter in your healing journey! Therapy can be an amazing opportunity for self-exploration and healing. I am always excited to see new individuals initiating the therapeutic process. Therapy can be a safe place for you to find your voice and share what you feel. Sometimes, just speaking things to life can be more powerful than expected.
Regardless of if this is your first time in therapy or not, it shows great strength and courage to initiate this process! Life can be very challenging and overwhelming at times. While therapy may not eliminate challenges, it can be an opportunity for you to learn more about yourself and your strengths.
I tend to use a flexible, client-centered approach in therapy because people and their experiences are unique. I work with people who are processing trauma, boundary work, and stress. Additionally, I like to help those who are experiencing stress from a life transition. Sometimes, it can be difficult to transition into new stages of life, if there are many unprocessed feelings and/or experiences. I aim to make the therapeutic space a safe place where you can work at your own pace toward healing. I tend to be my clients’ biggest cheerleader.
An important part in the healing process is acknowledging how our minds and bodies are connected. Trauma can sometimes manifest in unexpected ways. Our bodies can carry stress and trauma, which is why I encourage you to find a way to tune into your body and mind. Together, we can find coping mechanisms and relaxation techniques that fit your lifestyle.
A little about me is, I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, before moving to East Texas for college. There, I got my Bachelor of Social Work at Stephen F. Austin State University. I then moved to Austin while receiving my master’s in social work through Saint Leo University’s social work program. I learned to “pivot” during the pandemic, as I had to undergo graduate school online. I am flexible and enjoy being a part of others’ healing journeys. In my spare time, I love to be with my friends, family, and two dogs. I enjoy listening to music, running, reading, yoga, baking, and spending time outside.
I have primarily worked with young adults and couples struggling with stress, anxiety, trauma, and pressure. I am very passionate about helping others to overcome people-pleasing techniques and helping them identify and set boundaries that align with their goals. Coming from a multicultural and multiracial family, I love to celebrate our differences, while also inviting you to share your own experiences. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally and invite clients to share their experiences in a safe, nonjudgmental, and validating environment. Finding a therapist that you relate to is important! If you feel that we are a good fit, then please contact me. I look forward to working with you towards your goals!
