Anne Johnson, LPC
Welcome. Thank you for taking time to check out my page. I think it is brave to take the step to find help, and if you choose to work with me, I will make every effort to help you feel comfortable and safe, yet challenged to make positive changes.
I believe the heart of therapy is the connection between the therapist and the client. It’s important to find a therapist who you feel completely comfortable with. I provide a calm, nurturing environment that draws from both the power of relationship and understanding of the brain to help clients overcome challenges. Whatever you bring in will be met with warmth, curiosity, and, when appropriate, humor.
I work with folks who feel overwhelmed or stuck for a variety of reasons: issues connected to their neurodiversity, managing a medical diagnosis in the midst of all the other complexities of life, or being in a caretaker role. I also work with couples experiencing relational issues. Or, maybe you can't name it but you know you want things to somehow feel or be different.
A little about me, I graduated from University of Texas at Austin with a degree in English. For many years I did freelance writing while raising two kids with my husband. As my kids approached their teen years I felt inspired to consider what I wanted my next chapter to be. Becoming a therapist had been a long-held dream so I went for it! I am a life-long singer and have enjoyed singing in my choirs over the years. Currently I am finishing up improv training at a local theater and love performing with my troupe. I also devote a lot of time making sure my cats and dog know they are the prettiest and the best.
If you think we would work well together, please reach out to me at 512/201-4501, ext. 232. I look forward to hearing from you!
