“You fail to recognize that it matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be!” Albus Dumbledore

Hello and Welcome! You’ve made it this far in your therapist search, and I am proud of you for taking the first step towards living a full, happy, and authentic life. Realizing you need a boost in overcoming some of life’s challenges in your world and asking for help are not easy tasks, and I celebrate your choice to begin your journey on the path towards healing.

Therapy doesn’t have to be cloaked in mystery. In our work together, we will create safety and security together so you can explore the parts of your life that may need some attention and nurturing; your blind spots. We will work together to expand your sightlines and create new meaning. These new insights can give my clients a sense of empowerment and help focus their attention on themselves. I also utilize meditations where appropriate to help my clients understand where they store emotions in their body.

I provide services from a trauma informed person-centered approach, believing in the power of the therapeutic relationship to initiate the change process. I believe that when the client-therapist relationship is built on trust and empathy, I can help you develop insight around what you’re bringing to therapy. I use Narrative Therapy as a technique for making meaning of your life story and insight, giving you the agency to tell your story as desired. Through this, you can pinpoint changes that need or want to be made and you can rewrite aspects of your life story to create the narrative that you draw strength from. I use EMDR therapy as a tool to process trauma and heal other painful life experiences. If you’re a geek like me, then I can infuse geek culture into our sessions, drawing on superhero characters and arcs, books (including comic books), and movies.

I currently specialize in working with clients who are experiencing a perinatal/postpartum mood disorder, birth trauma, attachment and relational trauma, parenting issues, and grief and loss. I have previous experience working with these clients, families experiencing grief, young adults, and individuals in corrections. I am Gottman Level I Trained (to aid in couple’s communication) and am also a DONA Trained postpartum doula. Clients have described me as funny, inviting, and empathetic.

I received a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Miami and a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State University. I love reading, especially anything related to Star Wars or Harry Potter. I enjoy journaling and building Lego sets. I love spending time and discussing new Marvel or Star Wars theories with my husband. I relish in watching my three children grow and develop distinct personalities.

An hour of therapy is truly one of the best gifts you can give yourself. If you are interested in working with me, please call me at 512/ 201-4501, ext. 208. I look forward to working with you!
