Thank you for visiting my page. Know that just reading this is an act of strength. We’re often encouraged to disregard emotional difficulties and plow through life, buying into the myth that “if you’re functioning, you’re fine.” So, it makes sense that the process of seeking help might make you feel a bit vulnerable and uncomfortable. I know I felt that way when I was a new client. Yet, here you are. Welcome.
The good news is that there is much we can do together to help navigate difficult life circumstances and manage challenging emotions and relationships. I employ both cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based approaches. What that means for you is that our work can go in many possible directions. We can tackle immediate concerns such as feeling completely overwhelmed by a pressing problem. We can also address longer-term aspirations, such as discovering what changes might be possible in order to make life more enjoyable and satisfying. It is a great pleasure to meet my clients exactly “where they are” and then help them achieve their wellness goals.
On a personal note, I am a graduate of Vassar College and The University of Texas. I am married, have a teenage son, and have lived in Austin since 1997. A transplant from Connecticut, I love everything about Austin except the traffic. Please feel free to contact me at 512/201-4501, ext. 135, or by requesting an appointment with me on our Get Started page. I look forward to hearing from you.
