Mary Noel Thompson, LPC
Hello and welcome! I am so glad you have made the choice to explore the options of what it takes to live a life of freedom for yourself. Embarking on the journey towards healing takes courage and I want to start by saying I honor the courage you have deep inside of you. Making this commitment for yourself is an honorable one, so the healing has already begun!
As a heart-centered and intuitive therapist, I will help you discern the voices of the mind versus the voices of the heart, and will mirror back to you the gifts that you embody so that you may move forward, creating a life with confidence, ease and grace. I feel that it is my life’s mission to pay it forward and to help others who are struggling, as so many have helped me along the way. I also have done my own fair share of deep personal work and continue to do so on a daily basis.
I draw from ancient Sufi practices which are rooted in healing of the heart. I also draw from a wide variety of healing modalities including Somatic Experiencing for healing trauma, Law of Attraction teachings, yoga therapy and spirituality coaching.
I earned my Master of Counseling Psychology from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which is a consciousness-centered graduate school with a very innovative curriculum that integrates personal growth, consciousness and holistic professional training. After 13 years as a teacher in the Austin Independent School District, I decided to make a career change so that I could help those in need on a deeper level and to be an agent of change. In my career as a therapist, I have worked with people who have experienced sexual abuse, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, addictions and major life transitions.
Outside of the counseling room, I enjoy my daily Buddhist inspired yoga practice, spending time with loved ones, including my dog Zia, taking trips around the globe and spending lots of healing time in nature. I feel very blessed to be of service in the counseling field and hope to work with you soon! If you feel like we would be a good fit, please reach out at 512/201-4501, ext. 196 or by filling out an online request form.
