Hi! I am Frances, a therapist, a creative, and lover of dogs and being outdoors. It is through my curiosity about people’s stories and deep compassion for people that I am motivated to facilitate healing and growth. I believe that clients often possess the answers within themselves and I will assist you to embody your wisdom and free yourself from habitual patterns that no longer serve you. I offer a holistic approach that will help you to examine all aspects of your life, including relationships, career, self-care, and health, to pin-point which areas may need attention, repair, or radical change. In addition to traditional therapy, I offer a creative approach to internal exploration through expressive art therapy and mindfulness. “But I’m not an artist!” and “I can’t even draw a stick figure” are responses I often hear from people concerned they don’t have the prerequisite to participate in art therapy. Take a breath, and rest assured that there are NO requirements to participate in art therapy. All you need is to show up with an open mind. Many people struggle to understand why they continue to suffer with mental health issues, relational issues, or low self-esteem. Art therapy acts as a safari Jeep giving you a safe ride through the wilderness of emotions, memories, and thoughts, and I am your safari guide. Some memories and emotions are stored in our unconscious and within our body, often leaving us with a “gut” feeling, or reacting in ways that catch us off-guard. Expressive therapy is an aid to tap into our unconscious and bring to light issues that you may be unaware. I am here to assist you in sorting through those thoughts, feelings, and experiences from the past that might be affecting your present and limiting you from thriving.
When I’m not guiding clients through the emotional wilderness, I enjoy spending time outdoors with family and friends, watching movies, being creative, and exploring Austin’s wonderful music, art, and food scene. I am a big advocate for self-care and support others in my life to do the same. Including you!
