Thank you for finding me here. I hope to allow you to feel safe to be yourself in therapy. New endeavors can feel scary and I want to acknowledge your bravery in starting the therapy process.
I have been described as attentive, warm and sincere. I believe in an individualized approach and want to collaborate with you, the expert on your life, to determine how I can best help. My goal is to provide a non-judgmental environment that allows you to gently pursue and discover your most authentic self, including your needs, wants, fears and dreams. I honor all parts of you, including the hurt and pain, and hope to help you find healing and growth.
My background consists of working with individuals, couples, single parents and teenagers dealing with trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, addiction, physical and sexual abuse and situational poverty. I most recently worked as a perinatal social worker at a local area hospital. From this experience, I have become passionate about topics related to pregnancy and parenting including infertility, the loss of a child, pregnancy loss, adoption, high-risk pregnancy, traumatic birth, having a child admitted to the hospital and maternal mental health. These things can be some of life’s most painful experiences and greatly impacts you and your relationships. I am here to acknowledge your journey and help you welcome peace and comfort back into your life.
Therapy is about establishing trust and I consider it an honor to create a meaningful connection with clients. I incorporate Mindfulness and Experiential practices in therapy sessions, which means trying something new to ground yourself in the present moment. I believe in trying and discovering new resources that will help you feel safe and secure during hard times outside of therapy. In addition, I also utilize Internal Family Systems concepts to foster curiosity and gain awareness about yourself.
When I am not working, you can find me with my three dogs walking around Town Lake or reading a novel at a coffee shop. I love trying new things, whether that be exploring a small town or cooking a new recipe. Simply spending quality time with my family at home, watching movies or playing cards are also some of my favorite things to do.
