About Me


There comes a time when we all feel stuck. This is a normal part of being human. It is typically a sign that something in our life needs a shift toward change. My purpose is to build a safe environment where you can expand self-awareness by developing curiosity about your thoughts, feelings, and actions. How are these affecting you presently? How have they affected you in the past? Where do these even come from? These are just some of the questions we can begin exploring during our time together.

I approach therapy from a person-centered and collaborative stance in which you are the expert on the subject of YOU. You will see me use a strength-based perspective. In a world of scarcity it is incredibly easy to lose oneself to the constant messaging of “not enough.” I make it a priority to point out your strengths and encourage a mentality of abundance in your life. I also work from an attachment perspective. Many problems tend to stem from our personal relationship with ourselves and others. Taking time to acknowledge and work on these relationships can help us feel more connected with ourselves and our world. Finally, I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help re-process traumatic experiences that keep you from living a full and fulfilling life. That being said, I recognize that we are all unique humans and thus am prepared to remain flexible and meet you where you are.

I have a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from St. Edward’s University and a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State University. As a first generation college graduate, access to education runs deep in my heart. I served my community in various college access roles for six years. Ultimately, I learned that there are mental health variables that keep our minority and first generation college students from reaching their dreams of a college degree. This realization lead to my transition into the mental health field.

Things I enjoy doing when I am not working with amazing humans like yourself include playing with my Siamese cat Lima, gardening, organizing messy areas, and cooking for friends and family.
