About Me

I provide both individual and couples counseling.  In individual counseling I have complete acceptance for my clients while noticing and bringing awareness to patterns in relationships or behaviors that need to change. I will help you to understand your personal triggers and empower you to obtain the changes that you want in your life and relationships. My ultimate goal for individual clients is that you learn to treat yourself well.

I have completed Level I training in Gottman Couples Therapy and use Gottman Method in my work. This approach strives to help couples become better friends. My aim is to offer my couple-clients a safe container in which they can help clarify their mutual goals and create forward momentum toward accomplishing them. Some of these goals might be creating intimacy, strengthening trust and commitment, managing conflict, or building fondness and admiration.

Our appointments will be steady and reliable. This routine helps maintain the momentum for change and helps to give you a sense of control over your life. I help my clients take concrete steps and actions early on in our work together to achieve their goals. I help my clients make quick and meaningful improvements in their lives while at the same time working steadily on the deeper patterns that may take longer to shift.

I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Francisco with a major in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward's University in Austin, TX. My education and training allow me to have the license to be able to provide therapy but my counseling skills are also intrinsic. I create a protective and non-judgmental atmosphere where clients can learn to accept themselves. I offer deep intuition and inner wisdom about life and people. I provide a steady grounding presence when my clients are flooded with strong emotion. I am very good at making space for people.

I was born and raised in Austin, but have spent many years in the Bay Area. My appreciation of San Francisco developed when I was in college and has deepened more and more over the past 15 years. However, my love for Austin is strong and I am thrilled to live in this dynamic and energetic city! Some of the things I enjoy doing are hanging with my dogs, cooking first-time recipes, mixing up exercise routines with Yoga, Zumba, Walking, & Cardio Cinema.

In life, I derive energy from connecting with people, listening to their thoughts and feelings, and sharing my own. I feel incredibly fortunate that my career allows me to build connections and help others.

When working with couples, I first help to identify the strengths in the relationship. This process can at times be difficult and she understands the importance of building hope and stability at the beginning of your work together. I will then explore areas of potential growth and change. I have completed Level I training in Gottman Couples Therapy and uses this method in her work. This approach strengthens conflict management, enhances the friendship system and creates shared meaning for the couple, all of which I am skilled in promoting within partnerships.
