Hello and Welcome! You’ve made it this far in your therapist search, and I am proud of you for taking the first step towards living a full, happy, and authentic life. Realizing you need a boost in overcoming some of life’s challenges in your world and asking for help are not easy tasks, and I celebrate your choice to begin your journey on the path towards healing.

Therapy doesn’t have to be cloaked in mystery. In our work together, we will create safety and security so you can explore the parts of your life that may need some attention and nurturing—your blind spots. We will work together to expand your sightlines and create new meaning. I utilize grounding meditations before, during, and at the end of each session to give my clients a sense of empowerment and to help focus their attention on themselves. I tailor each meditation and tool to my client’s needs.

I provide services from a trauma-informed, person-centered approach, believing in the power of the therapeutic relationship to initiate the change process. I believe that when the client-therapist relationship is built on trust and empathy, I can help you develop insight around what you’re bringing to therapy. I use Narrative Therapy as a technique for making meaning of your life story and insight, giving you the agency to tell your story as desired. Through this, you can pinpoint changes that need or want to be made and you can rewrite aspects of your life story to create the narrative that you draw strength from. If you’re a geek like me, then I can infuse geek culture into our sessions, drawing on superhero characters and story arcs, books (including comic books), and movies.

I currently specialize in working with clients who are experiencing a perinatal/postpartum mood disorder, birth trauma, parenting issues, grief and loss, and general depression/anxiety. For parents, the beginning of pregnancy and parenting can be rocky and filled with shame, doubt, and uncertainty. I work to help those clients find coping tools and supportive connections. I also have experience working with families experiencing grief, young adults, and individuals in corrections. I am Gottman Level I Trained (to aid in couple’s communication) and am also a DONA Trained postpartum doula. Clients have described me as funny, inviting, and empathetic.

I received a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Miami and a master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State University. I love reading, especially anything related to Star Wars or Harry Potter. I enjoy journaling and building Lego sets. I love spending time and discussing new Marvel or Star Wars theories with my husband. I relish in watching my three children grow and develop distinct personalities.

An hour of therapy is truly one of the best gifts you can give yourself. If you are interested in working with me, please call me at 512-201-4501 x208 or complete a request form. I look forward to working with you!
